Winter Short Track Series race #2, January 24, 2010, Charlotte, NC Another muddy race for the Rennaissance Park short track Series. The day started out cold and rainy for the Beginner Men's race and continued raining thru the Masters Men/Beginner Women race. By the time the Sport Men classes started the rain slowed and eventually the sun (mostly) came out. The mud was not nearly as thick as last weeks race, but equally as slick with standing water in some locations. The climb up to the start/finish line was made more difficult as everyone searched for a line that provided the easiest passage. I didn't get any official numbers, but the turnout seemed to be nearly as good as it was for race #1. |
