Greenville Training Series race #4, February 28, 2010, Greenville, SC
The Greenville Training Center returned to the Donaldson Center industrial park for race #4 in the Spring Training Series. It
was a sunny day with light wind and temps eventually getting into the low 50's. Donaldson Center laps are 7 miles long.
With CAT 3, CAT 4 and the Pro 1/2's on the course at the same time there were potential conflicts. The CAT 4 peloton had
to be neutralized 2 times on the last lap to let the Pro 1/2 break pass, and then the Pro 1/2 peloton. By this time the CAT
4's were well into the sprint zone. After some confusion the decision was made to run the CAT 4's one more lap.
There were at least two crashes that I know of. There was a crash in either the CAT 3 or Pro 1/2 field on the 2nd lap and a
crash during the sprint for the CAT 4 finish. Safety workers were quick to respond.
Donaldson Center featured lots of fast racing, with breaks in almost all categories and exciting sprint finishes.
