NCCX Winter Cup race #1, Salisbury, NC
The first CX race of 2010 featured subfreezing temperatures, wind and fast racing. The first classes to race were
treated to a fast, flowing course with 2 dismounts: one set of barriers near the finish line and a run-up with 2 stair
steps. As the racing progressed the wind died down (most of the time) and some muddy spots began to appear
adding to the challenge. There was one minor change to the schedule with the CX3 adding 5 minutes to their
scheduled 45 minute race and the Pro/1/2 shortening their race by 10 minutes so that both races finished at the 50
minute mark. All the competitors seemed to be in favor of this. The prizes were great and all the races started on
schedule. All in all it was very well organized event.
A cold, windy day in Salisbury. Notice the wind-blown tape
